At Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) we are proud to be a farmer-owned milk marketing cooperative. --Our Beverage and Dairy Foods Division finds innovative ways to use milk components to work with world class customers to develop, manufacture and package their products.-- We offer a culture of inclusion and engagement that empowers our employees through training, business understanding and growth opportunities.-- It takes an incredible team to deliver the goodness of our products - come join us!------------Position Profile:--The Staff Accountant partners with the plant leadership team to support the achievement of financial and operational goals of the Schulenburg, TX manufacturing facility.-------- The Staff Accountant assists the Site Controller each month in closing the books in an accurate and timely manner, prepares DFA and customer required financial reports, and provides support for other financial aspects of plant operations, as assigned. --------Responsibilities:Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with month end closing for the Schulenburg facility including (but not limited to) preparation of journal entries, analysis of general ledger balances and activity, & researching transactional postings. Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly internal financial reports, customer required financial reports, and balance sheet account analysis, as assigned, in an accurate and timely manner. Assist the Site Controller with preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecast for both DFA and the customer, as assigned. Assist the Site Controller with annual blind-tagged inventory physical count. Prepare and distribute weekly phase (cost of non-conformance) reports, inventory reports, production reports, and other assigned plant reports.Maintain accounting information for vendor notifications and work with P&I Inventory Specialists to capture any credit due from the vendor or freight company that may have resulted in vendor's non- compliance or quality of product received.This position is responsible for processing non-PO vouchers.This position is responsible for identifying the impact of daily events on the Key Performance Indicator calculations and keeping management staff educated and informed on an as needed, weekly, and monthly basis. Exercise fiduciary duties to safeguard DFA assets and ensure compliance with DFA policies and procedures related to disciplines of Accounting and Finance.Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgmentOrganizational RelationshipsReports to Site ControllerThis position works closely with the plant leadership team as well with Divisional accounting and operational teams.The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties and skills required.-- Other duties may be assigned as required.--
