Job Description:
Description Under general production supervision, the Production
Technician performs preventative maintenance of the plant and
material handling equipment as effectively and economically as
possible while being consistent with plant policies, practices and
procedures. The person in this position will constantly drive to
minimize overall maintenance costs. This teammate will need the
ability to work in a team setting or independently on projects that
will ensure the division reaches its goals. Tasks &
Responsibilities Understand and follow all Safety and Environmental
policies, procedures and requirements Use test equipment and
diagnostic equipment to perform troubleshooting. Responsible for
performing preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and
equipment. Operate mobile equipment and certify as mobile equipment
operator for specific equipment (i.e., forklift, carry deck, crane)
Perform Lockout/tag out per company policies and procedures.
Collect samples of various process streams and delivers them to the
laboratory. Coordinate with control room to performs daily checks
and minor maintenance as per round sheets through observation of
local instruments, gauges and meters. Use knowledge of the plant to
make decisions in accordance with the work instructions and SOPs.
Perform required tasks during turnaround and shutdown activities.
Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement. Input
information in maintenance tracking system. Conduct rounds outside
throughout the unit to inspect and monitor equipment for proper
functioning and diagnoses equipment malfunctions. Report incidents
and participate in incident investigations as needed. Conduct shop
floor audits per safety guidelines and procedures. Participate in
emergency response team in coordination with safety and ERT
Coordinator . Responsible for housekeeping to maintain optimal
plant and safety performance. Perform all work in compliance with
all environmental, health and safety standards and company
procedures/policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
Associate’s degree in Process Technology or related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience in a process or industrial plant
Self-motivated and able to work independently Basic mechanical
aptitude and trouble shooting skills Must have good verbal and
written communication skills Must possess basic computer skill Must
be able to work a 12 hour shift rotating schedule to include days,
nights, weekends and holiday Must be willing to work overtime as
needed with minimal notice Will require the ability to use physical
force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools. Candidates
must be able to regularly bend, stoop, reach, twist and stand for
extended periods of time as well as routinely lift up to 50 lbs.
This job may also require candidates to be subjected to elements
such as rain, snow, extreme heat or cold and withstand heights of
up to 500 feet Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC-card. Must
have reliable transportation to and from work
