Technologist is a medical professional who assists in diagnosing
and treating heart and blood vessel conditions by using diagnostic
imaging equipment and other specialized tools. They work closely
with cardiologists, surgeons, and other medical personnel to
provide high-quality care and support for patients with
cardiovascular issues./n/nKey Responsibilities:/n/nDiagnostic
Testing & Imaging:/n/nPerform non-invasive diagnostic tests such as
echocardiograms, EKGs, and stress tests./n/nOperate imaging
equipment like ultrasound and X-ray machines to capture detailed
images of the heart and blood vessels./n/nMonitor and assess heart
rhythms during procedures like Holter monitoring and
electrophysiological studies./n/nPatient Care & Support:/n/nPrepare
patients for cardiovascular tests by explaining procedures and
ensuring comfort./n/nPosition patients correctly for imaging tests
and ensure safety protocols are followed./n/nMonitor patients'
vital signs and respond to any emergencies or changes in condition
during tests./n/nAssisting with Cardiovascular
Procedures:/n/nAssist cardiologists or surgeons during invasive
procedures such as angioplasties, catheterizations, and stent
placements./n/nMaintain sterile environments and manage necessary
equipment during surgeries or diagnostic interventions./n/nData
Interpretation & Reporting:/n/nRecord test results, analyze data,
and report findings to the medical team./n/nEnsure accurate
documentation of patient records and test results in compliance
with healthcare regulations./n/nEquipment Maintenance:/n/nEnsure
the proper maintenance, calibration, and sterilization of
diagnostic equipment./n/nTroubleshoot issues with imaging and
monitoring equipment./n/nPatient Education:/n/nProvide information
and guidance to patients regarding test procedures and
post-procedure care./n/nCollaboration:/n/nWork closely with
physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a
comprehensive treatment plan for patients./n/nEducation &
Qualifications:/n/nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in
Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related
field./n/nCertification from a recognized body, such as the
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS),
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or the American
Society of Echocardiography (ASE)./n/nSkills & Abilities:/n/nStrong
knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, medical terminology, and
diagnostic procedures./n/nProficient in the use of diagnostic
imaging equipment and patient monitoring tools./n/nExcellent
communication skills, with the ability to explain complex
procedures to patients./n/nDetail-oriented with strong analytical
