This opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse with acute medical-surgical experience seeking a contract position in Aransas Pass, TX. The role requires dedicated nursing care within a dynamic med/surg environment, supporting patients and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. Key Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of recent acute med/surg experience Ability to manage care for 4-6 patients simultaneously Valid RN license and required certifications Preferred: 2 years experience with neurological patients including CVAs, TIAs, and altered mental status Proficient in standard nursing procedures: IV insertion, urinary catheter care, central line maintenance, medication administration, and electronic health record documentation Friendly, positive attitude with a patient-centered, team-focused approach Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to med/surg patients, including neurological cases Perform procedures such as continuous bladder irrigation and nasogastric tube insertion/maintenance Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system Adhere to unit guidelines and maintain professional standards, including dress code compliance Work Schedule & Environment: Located on a med/surg unit with 22 beds and a supportive team of approximately 30 staff members Typical patient ratio up to 6:1, ensuring manageable workloads that allow quality care delivery Standard hospital equipment and Meditech EMR system utilized daily Scrubs attire consistent with unit policy About Aransas Pass, TX:Aransas Pass offers a welcoming coastal community with a relaxed lifestyle and beautiful natural surroundings.
