Job Description Job Description The Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) plays a vital role in delivering personalized therapeutic care to patients within their homes across the United States. This position focuses on assisting occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans that help patients regain or improve their ability to perform daily living and work-related activities. The OTA works closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure interventions are tailored to individual needs, promoting independence and enhancing quality of life. By providing hands-on support and monitoring patient progress, the OTA contributes to achieving measurable rehabilitation goals. This role requires compassion, adaptability, and strong communication skills to effectively support diverse patient populations in a home health setting. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will: Administers the Occupational Therapy treatment plan as developed by the Occupational Therapist. Applies concepts of infection control/universal precautions in performing patient care. Assure continuity of quality patient care delivered with appropriate documentation. Provide effective communication to patient/family, team members and other health care professionals. Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies. Requirements Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred CPR certification Valid Driver’s License Valid Auto Insurance HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred Physical Demands Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, or kneel for extended periods. Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 lbs
