Registered Nurse med/surg RN 4E PRN (FT; 6wks $60)- This is a 6 week commit at $60/hr PRN must be available to ANY shift for the duration to maintain rate Seeking teachable, growth-oriented RNs to work in a TEAM environment where EVERY nurse is valued and necessary to deliver the HIGHEST level of nursing care and support our patients have come to expect when they CHOOSE DeTar for their medical needs

We are seeking teachable, growth-oriented RNs to work in a TEAM environment where EVERY member is valued and necessary to deliver the HIGHEST level of care and support our patients have come to expect when they CHOOSE DeTar for their medical needs.

Our Med/Surg 4E RN team members provide direct patient care including treatments, activities, nourishment, drugs, and parenteral therapy safely and competently to the medical, cardiac, or surgical patient. Carries out physician orders to ensure patient care is complete. Abides by policy and procedure of the hospital and established routines to assure quality care is provided. Gives patient assignments and supervises the care of others when in charge. THIS bedside nursing role allows for variety, education, and growth opportunities for the NEW nurse, as well as TENURED nurses interested in optimizing the patient experience while staying busy and honing skills. Job Duties:

* Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
* Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
* Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
* Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
* Relies on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and accomplish goals

Minimum Requirements:

* Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
* Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
* American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationpreferred
* Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital Med/Surg unit
* Orthopedics experience highly desired
* Telemetry experience preferred
