Victoria College's Division of Administrative Services is hiring for a full-time, benefits eligible Accounting Clerk II - AR/Cashier to work in the Payments Office. Duties & Responsibilities:Ensures excellent customer service when greeting and assisting customers in person, via email, or over the phone.Conducts third-party billing for student tuition, fees, books etc. including sending past due notices.Receipts invoice payments and maintains up-to-date accounts receivable list.Prepares and sends invoices for all other miscellaneous services as needed.Accurately maintains third-party vendor files.Verifies and processes student refund checks.Accepts payments from students for tuition, fines, test fees, etc.Adds third-party awards and exemptions to student accounts and applies to balance.Receipts money, balance cash drawer and closes cashier sessions daily.Issues and reloads gift cards.Schedules students for exams and processes payment.Provides third party vendor bookstore vouchers to students as needed.Assists students with questions regarding their accounts, including explaining refund process and researching discrepancies.Maintains files of administrative installment plans.Reprints student schedules/receipts as requested during semester.Opens and distributes mail, including keeping a daily log of checks received.Receipts departmental deposits.Researches and post parking violations.Works with Registrar on audited courses and consortium agreements.For student printing needs, issues Papercut cards and processes refunds as needed.Issues student ID cards.This position will access student records and will follow all FERPA guidelines, maintaining student confidentiality.Other duties as assigned by Business Office Manager. Qualifications:High School diploma or GED requiredSome college preferred;Two years administrative cashier experience; with strong Microsoft skills required.QuickBooks experience preferredAccounts Receivable experience preferred;Experience in a banking or financial institution preferred;Must demonstrate excellent customer service. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
