Orientation and Mobility or Special Education, Certification as a
Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS), and 1 years
Orientation and Mobility Specialist experience required. Applicants
who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A
specialized opportunity is available for an Orientation and
Mobility Specialist (OMS) to support K-12 students in Southeast
Texas. This part-time contract role, based in Robstown, TX, focuses
on delivering essential mobility services to visually impaired
students within a public school setting. Key Responsibilities:
Provide orientation and mobility assessments and instruction to
K-12 students with visual impairments. Develop individualized
mobility plans that enhance student independence. Collaborate with
educators, families, and related service providers to integrate
mobility goals into educational plans. Monitor student progress and
adjust interventions as necessary to meet evolving needs. Maintain
accurate documentation and comply with certification and district
standards. Qualifications: Active Orientation and Mobility
Specialist (OMS) certification. AVCREP certification or equivalent
is required. Experience working with school-aged children from
K-12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for
collaboration with school staff and families. Ability to work
part-time, approximately 16 hours per week, typically scheduled as
two full days. Position Details: Contract duration: January 5,
2026, through May 28, 2026. Schedule: Two days per week, 8 hours
per day, with exact days to be determined. Location: Robstown, TX,
within the Corpus Christi Independent School District. On-site work
required; no remote or hybrid arrangements. Caseload to be
